Racial Profiling & Streotyoes in America
Literacy Outline:
Question: What racial issues might still be prevalent? How to prevent racial prejudice and discrimination in society?
Hook:” Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”- Martin Luther King Jr.
Background Information: Throughout History, African-Americans and many minority groups have been treated unfairly in the United States. Since the times of Slavery, African-Americans were treated as second class citizens and they were dehumanized. Many efforts were created by African-Americans to stop cruel punishment such as The Civil Rights Movement. Even though it tremendously had a positive outcome, Racial discrimination and prejudice are still happening in the 21st Century.
Thesis: Racial Issues are still prevalent in society today. The workplace, at school and many other places. There are many ways that we can end Racial Inequality. We must first end the poverty rate and educate the ignorant people who are causing Racial Prejudice and discrimination.
Body 1: Define what is Racism And Inequality
Give a little brief history on history throughout the United States on (mostly on the civil rights movements)
Body 2: Talk about how Racism is still prevalent in school
Body 3: Talk about the solutions to end Racism.
Body 4: Bring in the idea of the workplace and how it affects people such as immigrants and people of color and people who identify with a different religion.
Body 5: Provide examples and experiments that shows the pattern and increase of racial profiling and how it increases over the years.
